With an award-winning chef in the kitchen, food at Murrayshall House Hotel is taken very seriously.

All dishes are prepared using fresh seasonal produce, creating traditional favourites to a very high standard. From fresh free range eggs, locally cured Perthshire bacon and kippers for breakfast, to delicious home-cooked lunches, bar snacks and evening meals served in the hotel's two popular restaurants – your dining experience at Murrayshall House will be refined but relaxed.

Making use of mouth-watering produce from around Perth such as succulent local sausages and locally grown fresh berries, the menus present authentic Scottish cooking with a twist, accompanied by a top quality range of wines and an extensive range of malt whiskies to savour.

Whether you choose the informal and peaceful ambience of the Club Bar and Restaurant for your evening meal, or the relaxing backdrop of the traditional Old Masters restaurant - after a pre-dinner drink in the comfortable cocktail bar and lounge - the superb cuisine and high levels of service are sure to make every meal a special one.

Wildlife & Bird Watching

The estate provides superb opportunities for wildlife watching and photography. From parkland, with specimen trees, rising through forest and moor, path lead you to the Lynedoch monument at the top of Murrayshall Hill. Views to the Firth of Tay and the North Sea in the east to the Schiehallion mountain in the west are amongst the best in the area.

Blessed with a large variety of wild flowers including Orchids, a resident population of Roe Deer and a wide range of bird species from Goldcrest to Buzzard the estate is a haven for all things bright and beautiful. Recent sightings include Ospreys, Red Kite and Peregrine Falcons.

Golf at Murrayshall House Hotel

With a magnificent blank canvas of beautiful landscape, Hamilton J Stutt had over 350 acres of Perthshire countryside to work with. Laid out before him was a mature woodland estate dating back to the 1600's. He sympathetically used the natural contours and the Murrayshall course meanders through tree lined fairways, undulating parkland and has several natural burns which have been used to protect the large greens. The introduction of the white sand bunkers which are a feature of the Murrayshall course lie in waiting for errant shots.

Hamilton J Stutt returned to design the Lynedoch Course and make great use of the existing natural woodland, utilised the wild flower meadows that nature intended and carved a real wee gem of a course.

Both courses are a real contrast to one another – Murrayshall Championship, the wider, longer course requires length and accuracy from the tee shot, this will allow golfers the opportunity to approach greens from the correct angle, widening the view of the pin. Lynedoch however is shorter but no less a challenge, tighter fairways, bracken filled gullies and tall Scots Pine trees narrow the golfer’s view of fairways and greens.

With two different golf courses, both set out to a fabulous standard of play, the courses have attracted national and international events over the years. Currently the home to the Paul Lawrie Scottish Schools Championship, Murrayshall and Lynedoch have also hosted PGA events. 

Hunting, Shooting and Fishing at Murrayshall House

Set in a beautiful 350-acre estate in the heart of the Perthshire countryside, Murrayshall House Hotel gives guests and visitors the chance to engage in some hugely enjoyable field sports.

With prior arrangements we can arrange fully trained instructors to show novices the basics of clay pigeon shooting, more experienced guns will also have the opportunity to join local seasonal shooting parties.

If you want to relax and unwind, Murrayshall House also gives you the opportunity to experience some excellent local loch and river fishing. Experienced local Ghillies can also give tuition to beginners who want to catch fresh trout and salmon, whilst equipment hire can also be arranged.
