Built in 1840, Kinloch House is a fine example of a traditional Scottish country house. With an oak paneled hall, staircase and portrait gallery, the house stands proudly in twenty five acres of woodland and parkland. The elegant character of the house and the friendly welcoming atmosphere combines informality with quality.

Rooms

Standard/Classic

The Standard double bedded rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated with en-suite facilities. The Standard/Classic Rooms are beautifully decorated with lovely wall coverings and fabrics, comfortable seating and include antique furniture such as dressing tables and chest of drawers. These rooms are well equipped with adequate storage and cupboard space and facilities include direct dial telephones, flat screen Sony televisions, hairdryer and trouser press. All bedding is made up of luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets and pillow cases, soft down feather pillows and high quality blankets. The bathrooms are spacious and inviting with heated towel rail, full size bath, towelling bathrobes, soft fluffy towels and luxury Arran Aromatic toiletries.

Superior Rooms 

The Superior Rooms are again tastefully decorated with the finest wallpapers and soft furnishings with each room maintaining an individuality of its own. The beds are Vi-Spring and are King sized but can be made as Twin if required and are guaranteed to give a restful nights sleep. There is ample cupboard space and the furnishings include dressing table, coffee table and various seating options be it a sofa or individual chairs. Facilities include direct dial telephones, flat screen Sony televisions, hairdryer and trouser press. All bedding is made up of luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets and pillow cases, soft down feather pillows and high quality blankets. The bathrooms are spacious and inviting with some having marble surfaces. All have heated towel rail, full size bath, towelling bathrobes, soft fluffy towels and luxury Arran Aromatic toiletries.

Junior Suites

There are two Junior Suites and these are extremely spacious with the bedroom area covering 45m². One is King or Twin bedded while the other boasts a four poster bed.  They are front facing bedrooms and benefit from the fantastic vistas over the local countryside. These extremely spacious rooms benefit from a turreted section which allows for an extra seating area which comprises a comfortable sofa, two armchairs and large round centre table.

Again they are tastefully decorated in a traditional style and the facilities include direct dial telephones, flat screen Sony televisions, hairdryer and trouser press. All bedding is made up of luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets and pillow cases, soft down feather pillows and high quality blankets. The bathrooms are spacious with lots of mirrors and have heated towel rail, full size bath, towelling bathrobes, soft fluffy towels and luxury Arran Aromatic toiletries.

The bars and lounges at Kinloch House are ideal for enjoying pre-dinner aperitifs, after dinner liqueurs or one of our stunning range of Scottish malts. relax with family and friends and play cards, board games or pick a book from our library.

Our private dining room seats up to eighteen guests for a lunch or dinner party or for large parties we offer exclusive use of the hotel for up to thirty resident guests.

Bars & Whisky

Lovers of the great outdoors can tour the famous castles of Perthshire or go biking and rambling in the area. Guest can sample the Water of Life in Perthshire’s famous malt whisky distilleries and find a bargain in Perth’s exclusive shopping places. Here you can fish for sea trout and salmon in our challenging rivers, including the famous River Tay.

Lovers of the great indoors, on the other hand, can simply relax with a glass of excellent wine or a warming spirit, linger over our tempting menus and succumb to the relaxing atmosphere that brings our guests back to Kinloch House time and again.

The soft tones and huge open fireplace of the Bar Lounge provide an atmosphere which lends itself to the study of rare and delicious malt whiskies and Graeme Allen is a knowledgeable ambassador for Scotland’s most famous products. Aperitifs, canapés, coffees, liqueurs and liqueur coffees are also served in its relaxing ambience.

Things to do 

4x4 Off-Road Experience

Just a short distance from Kinloch House Hotel you will find on the outskirts of the beautiful Highland town, Dunkeld, the Land Rover Experience Scotland centre - here you can put the ultimate 4x4 vehicles through their paces in a majestic environment with the help of professional instructors to guide you. We highly recommend this experience being built into your time in this part of Scotland. Very memorable and a lot of fun.

Fishing

Salmon fishing on the River Tay in Perthshire is world famous. The River Tay is one of the “Classic” rivers, boasting the UK record and is renowned for it’s spring fish. It also has many smaller tributaries such as the Ericht, Isla, Gary and Tilt which offer excellent salmon and trout fishing. These rivers and the prolific Angus fishing rivers North and South Esk are all within easy reach from Kinloch House Hotel and make this the ideal location for Scottish fishing breaks and vacations.

Golf

Within a few miles of Kinloch House Hotel you will find some of Scotland's most famous and most pictureque golf coures. Everything from challenging Highland gems with stunning backdrops do world famous championship courses such as Gleneagles and St Andrews. Kinloch House Hotel is ideally located for a great Scottish golfing holiday. Here you can retire to in the evening far from the madding crowd before setting off the following day for the next Scottish gem.

Field Sports

Scotland is renowned for shooting, stalking and hunting. Kinloch House regularly host groups and shooting parties keen to experience the best shoots in the Perthshire region and we can assist in putting together a great package for individuals or groups. 

Shooting opportunities are often seasonal in Scotland so it is best to make your enquiry in advance. You may require to observe certain formalities especially if you are bringing guns from overseas. In some cases a minimum number of participants may be required.

Choose from first class wing shooting with driven pheasant and grouse, rough shooting, woodcock and some unbelievable goose shooting. There is also deer stalking for red, roe, sika and fallow deer together with a wealth of other sporting activities you can combine such as golf, fishing, hill walking and Munro climbing.
