The ICEHOTEL is located 200km north of the Arctic Circle in the heart of Swedish Lapland. The hotel is situated on the Torne River which is one of the cleanest rivers in Europe and surrounded by beautiful pine forest. This special area of Sweden is an inspirational playground and each year when the hotel is re-designed sculptures and artists draw inspiration from the immediate prestine wilderness.

Eco-Friendly

As the hotel is built directly from nature itself (ice blocks are cut from the river), nature plays an intrinsic part of everything at ICEHOTEL. The condition and health of the local natural environment is of paramount importance to the hotel and ICEHOTEL do all they can to keep the impact of the hotel on the area to a minimum. Thsese include lowering emissions from all related transport and deliveries, using local produce and offering more on-site services. ICEHOTEL even motitors its energy consumption and therefore its environmental impact with the hope that this will help encourage others in the area to become more aware of their own carbon footprint.
