The stunning Fonab Castle Hotel & Spa offers the ultimate indulgent castle hotel experience. Nestled on the banks of Loch Faskally in the beautiful town of Pitlochry - Fonab offers the tranquillity of the Scottish highlands whilst remaining extremely accessible

The hotel has 34 lovingly decorated rooms and suites. Each room offers a unique feature - some with Loch views and turret seating areas - whilst others have original fire places and vaulted ceilings. Fonab is unique, luxurious and, above all, an experience.

History

Built for the Sandeman family of Port & Sherry fame to be their home in 1892. During WWI the house was used as a Red Cross hospital, a plaque by the fireplace in the quiet room reflects this. In WWII, the house was occupied by school children who were sent from Glasgow to get away from the bombing. The house was sold to Scottish Hydro in 1946 when Scottish Hydro planned the Pitlochry Dam & Fish ladder.

The present owners, Jed & Joanne Clark purchased the castle in 2002. The Fonab Castle Hotel was eventually opened on the 10th July 2013. All are beautifully decorated and are fitted with the latest in comfort and technology.

The latest development is 2 Function Suites for up to 15 and on the ground floor you will find a Spa, Swimming pool, Jacuzzi , 4 treatment rooms, sauna, solarium, steam room, a juice bar and relaxation area. A further 8 rooms are planned for renovation and will be completed in 2016.

In the castle’s tastefully designed modern wing, spectacular views over Loch Faskally and the Highland scenery beyond.

All ground floor rooms have French doors leading to a decking area with direct access to the Loch. All first floor rooms have balconies overlooking the Loch. Super-king beds. All rooms have Smart TVs, indulgent hospitality trays and Nespresso coffee machines. Furnishings also include Egyptian Cotton bedding from The White Company, luxury bathrobes and slippers for ultimate comfort.

There are 26 rooms and suites in the main building plus a further 8 bedrooms in the Lodge adjacent to the hotel. All rooms have been decorated to the highest standard and with the same attention to detail.

The Penthouse Suite

Fonab Castle’s flagship Penthouse is located on the Castle’s fourth floor, offering unrivalled views over the surrounding highlands. Featuring a high, vaulted wooden ceiling an original panelled walls, the room has a luxurious and airy, yet comfortable feel. The centre piece of the room is a top of the range "And-So-To-Bed" 7ft Dickens Nickel bed. A set of steps has been provided just in case! What’s more, the room is beautifully decorated in muted velvet creams with Ulf Moritz glass studded wallpaper adorning all walls. There is a dressing area with shower

and the ensuite has a waterfall bath.

Sandemans & The Brasserie

Fornab Castle is delighted to announce that they have been awarded 3 AA Rosettes for our Sandemans Fine Dining Restaurant. The Head Chef Paul Burns and his team create exquisite dishes for our 6-course tasting menus using seasonal locally sourced produce. The Restaurant Manager James Payne will provide accompanying fine wines to compliment your menu and with his team ensure an Indulgent dining experience.

In the Brasserie we present a relaxed and informal dining experience with fantastic views over Loch Faskally. Enjoy good food in a laid back atmosphere. The Lounge is perfect for morning coffee and enjoy afternoon tea overlooking the fabulous Loch views.

Private Dining Sandemans gourmet restaurant can be hired out just for your personal use for the ultimate experience of private dining in style and indulgence. This exquisite wood-panelled room can be transformed into the perfect private dining room with stylish decor and elegant service giving the most discreet attention one could ever wish for.

The Quiet Lounge is perfect for pre-dinner drinks and sets the scene for your event. The Castle Suite and Fonab Suite are perfect for a larger event for up to 150.
