Abbaye de la Bussiere

LUXURY COUNTRY HOUSE HOTEL, this converted Abbey is a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux hotel group and now with award winning Michelin star gastronomic restaurant, Le 1131 and Le Bistrot des Moines.

The monks may have gone, but Abbaye de la Bussiere still retains an air of tranquility, peace and hospitality, often hard to find in the modern world. Located in the heart of Burgundy, the hotel is the ideal base from where to discover the region. Just half an hour's drive from Dijon, Beaune and the famous Route des Grands Crus wine trail.

Abbaye de la Bussiere benefits from:

  • 20 luxurious bedrooms. All bedrooms and suites have been designed individually to provide the greatest comfort. The ensuite bedrooms have beautiful fittings and whirlpool baths. Each room has a stunning view of the park
  • Michelin star gastronomic restaurant, Le 1131 and Le Bistrot des Moines. Both of these are orchestrated by head chef, Guillaume Royer, who in 2015 was awarded the prestigious title of 'Meilleur Ouvrier de France', one of only four in the region of Burgundy and Franche Cornte
  • Cosy lounges
  • Seminar meeting room in the former orangery
  • 17 acres of park and grounds with ornamental lake. The park could be described as a botanical garden with over 50 tree varieties and many different flowering plants. The river Arvot flows through the grounds and feeds the ornamental lake, home to a vast selection of wildfowl
  • 13th century wine press and cellars to view. Here the monks made their wine for the sacrament
  • A crypt in the abbey grounds, provides a peaceful spot for weddings, baptisms or some quiet meditation
  • The abbey lies next to the Burgundy canal with towpaths that are perfect for scenic strolls and easy bike rides. Bicyles are available for free use of guests at the abbey
