Swedish Lapland: Exclusive Aurora Magic View Full Screen Itinerary

Today you will fly into Lulea, the vibrant and bustling capital of Swedish Lapland. On arrival at the airport you will be met by a Sandgrouse Travel representative who will be waiting for you with a paging board to welcome you. Our driver guide will make sure you have all your luggage and everything you need before heading out to the awaiting car. From the airport it is a short 30-minute drive to your beautiful accommodation, where you will be staying for the next 2-nights! 

Brandon Lodge is built in a traditional style, with a beautiful timber chalet will be at the heart of your stay for the following few days. Dotted around the grounds at Brandon Lodge are a number of cosy log cabins which guests are able to take on a private basis. We have selected one of these for you - overlooking the snowy tundra and across to the frozen lake. 

On arrival at the lodge you will be welcomed into the traditional Swedish Lapland Lavvu tent which stands in the grounds by the lake, inside a roaring fire and warming lingonberry drink away. Get to know you host and a little more about the lodge before being shown to your cabin in the grounds. 

Tonight you have a dinner served in the main chalet, enjoy a wonderful array of local options from Reindeer to Arctic Char. 

After dinner, we have arranged for you to enjoy a private sauna session by the lake side. Enjoy this traditional Swedish luxury (wood-fired) and if you're brave enough, make sure you take a dip mid-way through in the icy waters! We recommend you keep an eye out for the Northern Lights, perhaps you may want to book a slot fo the use the Jacuzzi hot-tub as well? Or maybe you wish to unwind in the comfort of your cabin with a bood book.

Enjoy a hearty local Swedish Lapland breafkast, with all the trimmings! Your meal is prepared by the excellent local Brandon Lodge team and served in the main chalet. Fuel-up, as today you will be out and about on the ice and the cold weather is a great excuse to take really enjoy the local food!

Today we have something very exciting planned for you. You will be driving your own snowmobiles, accompanied by a professional guide across the frozen pack-ice out into the Bothnian Sea. This will be an experience to savour as the environment out here resembles that of the Arctic in the far north! Before you depart you will be issued with full-body thermal polar suits, along with leather gauntlet/mittens and balacavas. Essential for this sort of excursion. 

Hold on to your hats (not literally, you will be wearing a motocycle helmet) as you zoom across the ice chasing down your guide on this all out adventure. Today is something far out of the ordinary, and far removed from the norms of life in the United Kingdom or mainland Europe. This is a real Swedish Lapland adventure that you will never forget. After an exhilerating day, including a wilderness lunch stop on the ice you will return to Brandon Lodge.

This evening we have arranged for you to have a special, romantic dinner at a secret location out on the ice. One of the lodges great guides will collect you from infront of the lodge by snowmobile and sledge before whisking you off into the frozen night across the lake. Crane your necks towards the stars above and marvel and the lack of light pollution here - this is a night sky like you've never seen before. If you are lucky, the Aurora could already be dancing above. 

On arrival at your hideaway, a warming drink will be thrust into your hand and you will be able to get cosy either inside or fireside, on the ice - as your chef starts to prepare a special meal for you. 

After dinner, head back to the lodge with your guide by snowmobile and enjoy a well earned night's rest.

This morning is you last morning at Brandon Lodge - you have have noticed that behind the cabins there is a Reindeer enclosure? If you are lucky, speak to your host and see if you will be able to feed them this morning before heading across for your own hearty breakfast. Each morning a member of the team will hand feed the reindeer if they are there!

After breakfast,  you have the option to embark on a Hovercraft ride across the frozen lakes and sea (not included - if you wish to arrange it please let your Sandgrouse Travel & Expeditions travel planner know). This is for some, the only means of connection with the outside world in the winter months and a great experience. After you return to the main lodge, you will be collected by your driver guide who will take you to your next accommodation, the world famous TreeHotel. Here you have one night at both TreeHotel in probably one of the world's most sought after hotel rooms- - a UFO! 

Today you will wake up in one of the world's most sought after hotel rooms - one of 7, unique treehouses in the Swedish forest. We suggest getting up early and enjoying a walk through the beautiful forest with your camera before breakfast at Brittas Farm House. Look out for Coal tits, Jays and other birds along with any other wildlife. The snow makes easy tracking and leaves tell tale signs of the nights animal activity. Brittas Farm House is where you will have had dinner last night, this traditional farm house is cosy and typical of rural Sweden. Serving a delicious home-cooked Swedish breakfast before an very special day of wilderness adventure. 

After breafkast, you will need to check-out of your treehouse, making sure your bags are ready to be collected at left in the main reception of Brittas farm house. 

On checking-out of Treehotel you will drive the very short distance by driver guide to Logger's Lodge. This will be your own wilderness paradise for for the next 48 hours. Settle in and enjoy the silence in an area of genuine natural beauty before taking on an afternoon acitivity such as Nordic Skiing or Snow-Shoeing through the forest! 

This evening, after an incredble meal prepared and brought to you at your cabin by your locally based hosts, you will be able to enjoy a Northern Lights photography class. Your host who is a locally renowned photographer is the perfect man to show you the ropes. He will show you how to capture via long exposure film some stunning images - and all only a short distance away from your cabin!

Once you return, enjoy the sauna or Jacuzzi hot-tub under the star studded skies!

Accommodation: Loggers Lodge on a fully inclusive basis. 

This morning you will be meeting your very own teams of husky dogs. You will be driving your dogs through the magical, snow-covered forest on an adventure of a lifetime. Enjoy the silence, acccompanied by panting dogs and the sound of sledge runners on the compact snow. Today you are actually travelling to your next accommodation, via dog sled! Your route will include some of the local trails and tracks winding it's way through the forest to a suitable wilderness lunch spot. Here your guide will built a fire and serve you local treats with hot lingonberry tea. 

After lunch it will be a short distance further to your beautiful, secluded private log cabin. This is the perfect spot for your last, romantic night in Swedish Lapland. Enjoy the silence, the stillness and the space. Here is complete and total tranquility. Take an hour for the sauna, making sure to run out and do a snow-angel in the fresh snow for a truly exhilerating experience! Grab a beer and sit in the hot-tub and marvel at the light show in the night sky above your cabin hideaway... Loggers Lodge and the superb hospitatlity by host Eric will surely be a fitting send off to your incredible few days in magical Swedish Lapland!

Today you will be walking up in a wilderness paradise. It will be hard to leave this magical cabin in the woods but we hope you will be leaving with a memory to savour for the rest of your lives together. 

After an incredible breakfast brough to you at your cabin (as per dinner yesterday evening) you will be checking out and driven back to the local airport by your host or one of the team. 

Once at the airport you will check in to your return flight for the UK and bid farewell to magical Sweden.
