Today you’ll be heading out into the Swedish wilderness with your professional guides and embarking on a variety of exciting adventures and traditional experiences. Breakfast will be served early in the restaurant, after which there will be time for trying out the equipment and winter clothing you’ll be using whilst out and about in the frozen north. Once you have sorted out your gear with the help of your guides, you will be heading out to enjoy a ‘Nordic Winter Skills’ class with local professional guides. After your hard work, they will treat you to an incredible ‘bush lunch’ (outdoor lunch), prepared traditionally over an open fire in the woods.

The ‘Nordic Winter Skills’ class will show you how best to go about surviving in such harsh conditions and teach you a variety of excellent tips on life in Swedish Lapland. After lunch you’ll head back to the lodge where warming coffee and tea will be served in the restaurant by the roaring fire. The afternoon is at leisure to relax, take a dip in the outdoor wooden hot tub, jump in the warming sauna or take a stroll around the forest surroundings of the lodge.

Once the sun starts to set, you will want to strap on your snowshoes (provided) and head out with a professional guide on a Northern Lights hunt; the Northern Lights from this part of Sweden can be seen regularly and it is one of the best places in the world to witness this natural phenomenon. On returning to the lodge, a three-course dinner will be served in the restaurant.

In Swedish Lapland you are sure to find your arctic experience. With vast contrasts between the seasons from polar nights with sparkling northern lights displays to warm summers filled with days spent swimming in fresh water lakes or under the midnight sun.

The local area around Lulea where this itinerary is based includes the Lulea archipelago which includes as many as 1,300 islands, many with hidden sandy beaches. To the west of the Lulea region you'll find high mountains and brooks with water so clean you can drink from them.

Temperatures in this part of northern Sweden are extremely cold during the winter months, we recommend travellers pack for a true winter experience. Guests are also supplied with additional suitable winter clothing on arrival and or before their activities commence.

Dresscode

Casual, sporty winter clothing. We recommend that you dress in Three different layers, as the picture below. Except what you bring by your self you will borrow thermo pants, Thermo jacket, winter boots, hats & gloves for the activities. But good to have a warm jacket with you for the walks when we don’t do the activities.
