Today you will wake up away from the city buzz on the banks of Loch Lomond. After breakfast and checking out, take your luxury Land Rover north following the shores of the loch. You will soon be heading into the real mountains of Scotland. Scottish Highland scenery is beautiful and you are heading towards the most beautiful glen of them all, Glencoe.

Make sure you enjoy the journey and stop to take some incredible photos of the wild and rugged Scottish mountains. Here films such as King Arthur, and James Bond Skyfall have been shot and with good reason. A short detour down Glen Etive takes you to the filming location of James Bond's Skyfall for an iconic photo recreation.

Heading on out of the glen you will drop down to the sea lochs - these were formed tens of thousands of years ago by huge glaciers and are often known as the Scottish Fjords for their similarity to Norway's Fjords.

Your destination today is Oban - one of Scotland's most charming West Coast towns. It is here that the ferries depart for the Hebrides and the islands. You will be checking into the fantastic and new Isle of Eriska, 5-star hotel. A Relais and Chateau property, the food here is sublime. Fresh local Scottish seafood is a must!

Waking up in the West Coast of Scotland is a real treat. On your doorstep stands an exciting and beautiful playground waiting to be explored. Today you can take the car and explore by quiet roads, or even better head out onto the water. We recommend chartering a sail boat and heading out for a picturesque day on the water between the islands. Alternatively you may wish to take the 'Cal Mac' (as the local say), ferry to the Isle of Mull. Mull is a wildlife heaven and utterly beautiful. At the south end of Mull you have the ancient and sacred island of Iona where Christianity arrived in Britain. A special place indeed.

Tonight after a day of wonderful exploration. Return to your hotel near Oban and enjoy some wonderful local cuisine.

Accommodation: Isle of Eriska Hotel, Deluxe Rooms x2 (Big House, inter-connecting rooms). Bed and breakfast basis.

Today sees you departing the West Coast after an amazing stay. You will check out of the Isle of Eriska Hotel and jump into the Land Rover before heading north east following the shores of Loch Linnie. Once at Fort William, amazingly you are almost at the start of Loch Ness. Loch Ness is the lochest loch in Scotland and famous for the monster 'Nessie'. We recommend enjoying the loch today, perhaps taking a boat ride out onto the loch or savouring a picnic lunch on the banks whilst trying to catch a glimpes of the elusive monster.

This afternoon you will arrive in the Inverness area and be able to visit attractions that of particular interest. We recommend heading to a one of the many local 'Speyside' whisky distilleries. Many conduct tours in French and the Speyside whiskies are famous the world over for their high quality.

This evening you are checking into Boath House in Nairn close to Inverness. This is a beautiful part of Scotland on the river esturary and the birdlife here is incredible. Boath House offers a traditional country house stay.

Today you leave Nairn, a charming small Scottish town in the north. We suggest you head south to Gleneagles via Breamar and the A93 through Glenshee. This is one of Scotland's most beautiful glens and follows the tracks of an old Jacobite era miliary road. The road has improved a lot since that era and twists its way all the way to one of Scotland ski resorts before dropping down into Angus and Perthshire. From here head south west to the world famous luxury Gleneagles Hotel and Golf Club.

On the way today a stop in Braemar will allow you to catch a glimpes of the British royal family's Scottish residence, Balmoral Castle. The castle of course giving its name to the hotel you originally stayed in, in Edinburgh.
