Welcome to Cape Town! You will be met at the door of your aircraft with your name on a paging board and assisted through immigration, baggage collection and customs. You will then be shown to the vehicle rental collection office. Should your arrival aircraft be directed to the apron and not the terminal, you will be transported to the terminal by bus. As you step off the bus, your Meet and Greet will be waiting for you with the paging board.

Once you are all set with you hire car (Toyota Corolla or similar), follow the very easy to read driving directions along with Sat Nav directions into Cape Town. Cape Town city centre is a small area and it is not complicated with the help of Sat Nav plus excellent road directions that we provide you with to locate your luxury boutique guest house. You will be checking into the Cape Cadogan Hotel which is located only a short walk from many of the city's major attractions. On arrival, check-in to your comfortable room and settle in.

The Cape Cadogan will make an excellent base from which to explore both the city itself over the next few days as well as the whole region. We recommend using your first afternoon to take a city tour which can be arranged by the staff at The Cape Cadogan or by ourselves prior to booking should you wish. This will help orientate yourselves and give you some great insider knowledge and tips on where to go and what to enjoy. We recommend enjoying dinner this evening down by the V&A Waterfront (the fantastic marina), with a backdrop of Table Mountain there are few better views for an evening dinner.

Accommodation: Luxury Room at The Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, Cape Town (Your stay includes: Breakfast, complimentary scheduled transfers to and from V&A Waterfront and the Cape Town International Convention Centre).

(The views of Table Mountain from the V& A Waterfront are spectacular)

(If the weather is good, take the chance to head out on a sunset cruise into the bay)

Scenically beautiful, Cape Town is a compelling mix of trendy modern and old-world elegance. Glamorous hotels, world-class dining and stunning vistas merge seamlessly with dynamic student suburbs and vibrant nightlife. Malay and African heritage is evident in the cuisine, traditions and entertainment while the architecture reveals a strong Dutch, German and English flavour and style.

Contemporary art is proudly displayed in a variety of galleries and modern boutique hotels, and wine bars and brandy tasting lounges will appeal to the fashionable set. For the well-heeled the finest in opera, ballet, drama and music can be appreciated in style.

A short boat cruise to Robben Island, just over seven km’s from Cape Town harbour, you can experience a sense of hopelessness inside the prison cell where South Africa’s most beloved legend, Nelson Mandela spent 27 years doing hard labour. It is difficult to imagine how anyone could rise above the horror of incarceration to become arguably the most iconic and compassionate leader of our era.

An exciting trip up Table Mountain in a cable car provides panoramic views over the “Mother City” and other attractions include the Cultural History Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Greenmarket Square’s local crafts markets and the Bo-Kaap’s colourful Cape Malay buildings add a sense of authenticity to your trip, and Long Street’s vibrant restaurants, bars and clubs come alive after dark. Perhaps wander around the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, a working harbour and hub of entertainment and shopping opportunities.

Accommodation: Luxury Room at The Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, Cape Town (Your stay includes: Breakfast, complimentary scheduled transfers to and from V&A Waterfront and the Cape Town International Convention Centre).

An easy drive from Cape Town, the Winelands dramatic mountains stand guard over a quilt of working vineyards, elegant Cape Dutch estates and quaint towns boasting top restaurants, hotels and spas. Sample some of the regions award-winning wine offerings, stroll through exquisitely maintained gardens or explore art galleries and antique shops in the oak-lined streets of the local towns.

The buzzing university village of Stellenbosch was named after the Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel and, as the historic hub of the Winelands it is surrounded by around 200 wineries. Spier’s treetop dining platform provides a unique experience and world renowned wines Lanzerac, Simonsig, Neethlingshof, Boschendal and Meerlust are a must for wine tastings. Franschhoek, a charming town with French Hugenot heritage is arguably the culinary headquarters of the country and home to the creative genius of a number of resident chefs. Framed by a majestic backdrop of the Helderberg Mountains, Paarl lies peacefully nestled amongst vineyards laden with the harvest’s finest offerings.

Enjoy gourmet meals lovingly prepared by experienced chefs and served in lush gardens, or stylish restaurants. Sample local wines and explore the cellars of well-established wine farms. The Winelands is all about stepping back from the hectic pace of modern living, and appreciating the finer things in life in some of the most gorgeous and tranquil locations this country has to offer. The Raptor and Cheetah rehabilitation centre, Butterfly World, and museums and sites of historic import can be explored on your Winelands visit.

Accommodation: Bedroom Suite at Babylonstoren Farm Hotel. (Your stay includes: Breakfast, personal bars in the rooms and laundry (6 items per day). Activities Included: A private guided garden visit and farm walk, cycling and canoeing/rowing on the farm dam.)

A bit more about Babylonstorn for you! Almost mythical in its beauty, Babylonstoren is a working wine and fruit farm in the glorious Drakenstein Valley of the Winelands. Lovely white-washed Cape Dutch buildings form the exteriors, while the interiors showcase a combination of heritage and modern living. 12 guest cottages and a Manor House provide luxurious comfort, and the peace that comes from wholesome farm living. A true Eden, 8 acres of formal gardens and irrigation waterways, yield over 300 edible plants. This seasonal produce is used in the exquisite meals presented by the hotel’s top restaurants, Babel and The Green House. Wander through the grounds, along the secluded oak-shaded paths, letting your soul soak up the tranquillity of this incredible location, or feel rejuvenated at the spa, gym and pool.

Today you will rise early and head back to Cape Town Airport. Here you will need to drop off your trusty hire car before checking in to your internal flight north to Mpumalanga. You will be flying to MQP Airport where you will be met and transfered via private transfer to your luxury Sabi Sands Game Rerseve. By early afternoon you should have a cool welcome drink in your hands and be excited to see some of Africa's top wildlife.

Welcome to the Greater Kruger National Park area, and The Sabi Sands! Intoxicating Africa.

As you bump along the park roads, the sun warm upon your face and air dry in the back of your throat, your senses are on high alert. This is the real Africa, cut away from the hectic pace of life, home to Africa’s Big 5. The Kruger is alive, from the nervously twitching herd of impala after a night of predator action, to the wild dog cavorting like domestic pets alongside the road. Marvel as a herd of elephant simply appear from out the bush, then silently vanish back into the landscape.

With over 2 million hectares of pristine wilderness, the Kruger’s biodiversity sustains numerous species of game and birds. The dry north consists of Baobab trees, scrubland and rocky outcroppings which can be seen for miles and animals tend to gather around water sources. As you come south, the park gets busier, animal numbers increase and the backdrop changes to grassland and acacia woodlands.

On the western borders, private reserves such as Sabi Sands and the Timbavati open onto the Kruger, offering an exclusive game experience with the flexibility of night drives and off-road 4 x 4 safaris. Swaying to the movement of an open vehicle while wrapped warmly against the night chills, is an unforgettable experience. The call of a Nightjar darting overhead and the flash of eyes reflected from the bushes brings an entirely different twist to your safari and as you drop your head back and look up – the crisp night skies go on forever.

Accommodation: Luxury Suite at Savanna Private Game. (Your stay includes: All meals, local brand drinks, mini bar (excluding selected wines and imported beverages), tea/coffee, 2 game drives per day, refreshments on game drive, bush walks, transfers to and from the lodge airstrip and laundry services).

A little more about Savanna Private Game Reserve. The lodge lies in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Private Reserve and commands views over the surrounding bushveld and floodlit waterhole. Reflecting old-fashioned romance and modern comforts, the 9 spacious suites are constructed of a mix of thatch, canvas, and draped ceilings. 4 suites have plunge pools on their decks. The “Out of Africa” Colonial charm is evident in the main lodge where the lounge, patio and viewing loft offer beautiful spaces where animal lovers may experience nature, in the style of a bygone era. Within the lush gardens the pool affords respite from the midday sun. Delicious breakfasts are served on the patio overlooking the waterhole. A wine cellar, gym, shop, wifi and massage therapist are available.

Welcome to Victoria Falls...a fitting final destination for your incredible Southern African Honeymoon.

Today you wake up in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve very early, before being taken by private Land Rover to the local airport. From here you will be flying north to Livingston in Zambia. On arrival again look out for a Sandgrouse Travel & Expeditions representative who will have a paging board with your name on. He will take you to through the boarder crossing into Zimbabwe and directly to your amazing hotel. The world famous Victoria Falls Hotel. Check-in and unwind in your amazing surroundings.

When you wander through the lush rainforests above the Victoria Falls, newly baptised in the mist, your ears holding the echo of thundering waters, it isn’t hard to imagine that this is where it all began. Eden.

As the land cuts away beneath the ancient Zambezi River, the waters plummet dramatically into the Batoka Gorge, over 100 metres below. The angrily churned up spray shoots skyward, painting the landscape in billowing clouds. This striking ‘’smoke that thunders” can be seen for miles, a geographic pointer summoning visitors into its presence.

Accommodation: Deluxe Room Central at The Victoria Falls Hotel (Your stay includes Breakfast).

A little more about The Victoria Falls Hotel. Built in 1904, the historic Victoria Falls Hotel is an icon, its gracious colonial architecture leading out to expansive terraces and lawns overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge. 161 classic rooms and suites provide modern comfort and the tasteful echoes of the Edwardian past. Décor includes the memorabilia and old-world charm of a bygone era, a nod to the pioneers and explorers whose fame lives on, immortalised in the hotel’s elegant style. Using the mist from the Falls as a beacon, stroll through attractively landscaped gardens along a private pathway, to the scenic Victoria Falls rainforests. High Tea is served on the terrace, a delightful tradition which fits so well with the atmosphere and ethos of this luxurious hotel.

The vibrant town of Victoria Falls is known as the adventure capital of the world, and if your eyes light up at the thought of conquering the “Stairway to Heaven” or “The Terminator” in a raft, then this is the place for you. While the notorious Nyaminyami (Zambezi River God) watches from its mythical depths, and the majestic basalt cliffs allow your passage through the canyon’s exquisite landscape, adventure seekers are assured of a good time. From Grade 5 white-water rafting, bungee jumping, abseiling and elephant back riding, the amusement never ends.

What makes this destination so memorable is the fact that it is perfectly combined with warmly hospitable people, exquisite scenery and an array of accommodation. Excellent game, historic ruins, fishing and luxury train travel are easily accessible from Victoria Falls, as are the neighbouring countries which border this fascinating town.
