Edinburgh & The Highlands View Full Screen Itinerary

This morning you will arrive in Edinburgh at Edinburgh Airport. Here you will be met by your ground contact who will make sure you have all your luggage and supporting documentation. Your private transfer vehicle will be waiting for you outside to take you into the city centre of Edinburgh, Scotland's beautiful captial.

On arrival in Edinburgh you will drop off your luggage at your city centre hotel, the famous Balmoral Hotel. Once you have checked into your rooms you will be able to start to explore this incredible and most beautiful capital city. Edinburgh is a city rich in great history, a vibrant culture and packed with many exciting sites and sights! 

This evening why not find a local Scottish restaurant or enjoy the Balmoral's own amazing food.

This morning you will wake up at The Balmoral Hotel in the centre of Edinburgh - an experience to savour.

After a fantastic and traditional Scottish cooked breakfast it will be time to head out for the day. Waiting to meet you in the hotel entrance is your French speaking guide who will be with you today from 9am until 1pm. They will take their time to walk with you on foot over the beautiful North Bridge above the iconic Waveley Railway Station before heading up the famous Royal Mile towards the historic and impressive Edinburgh Castle. 

On approaching the castle pop into the Ticket Office with your voucher numbers before being issued your pre-paid tickets. The next few hours with your private French speaking guide will be illuminating and insightful. Edinburgh Castle has a rich and fascinating history. 

This afternoon and evening you will be free agents to enjoy exploring the city. Make the most of your French speaking guides local recommendation and tips and head to a local's favourite spots.

For the next 2-days you are free agents in Edinburgh, the stunning and historic capital city of Scotland. Explore the ancient and interesting Old Town discovering cosy taverns and unique stores, wander the impressive 'Georgian' New Town and seek out the best restaurants serving fine Scottish cusine.

Today you will be checking out of The Balmoral Hotel and commencing your exploration of the Scottish Highlands. Incredible, romantic Scottish scenery awaits via many miles of beautiful roads passing mountains, lochs and castles. 

This morning you will have your luxury Land Rover Discovery dropped off at the hotel in the centre of Edinburgh. After a breifing of the vehicle it will be time to leave behind the hustle of the city. We recommend heading north via the M90 and the Forth Road Bridge. Before you cross the bridge take a short detour into the historic Scottish town of South Queensferry. Here you are able to enjoy exceptional views of the iconic Forth Railway Bridge, the road bridge and the brand new Queensferry Crossing bridge. The three bridges make up an impressive sight and are one of Scotland's most recognisable landmarks. 

After you have marvelled at the feats of Victorian engineering head north towards Perth and up the A9 through the Highlands. Today you are heading for a small town called Nairn where you will check-in to your luxury hotel, Boath House. 

You will be staying here for the next 5-nights in the garden cottage a short walk from the main house. Apple Cottage has ample room and space for you to spread out and enjoy a base from which to explore this remarkable part of Scotland.

Over the next 4 days you will be able to fully enjoy exploring much of the Scottish Highlands, from the Cairngorm National Park, to the Speyside malt whisky making region and further from Inverness. This will be an eye opening experience, this part of Scotland is truly beautiful and diverse. 

Accommodation: Boath House, Apple Cottage (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast rate). 

Today you will wake up to your final breakfast in The Scottish Highlands. Checking out of the hotel you wil drive south (we recommend via Braemar and the A93 old military road through one of Scotland's most beautiful glens, Glenshee). 

On arrival in Edinburgh you will drop off your Land Rover Discovery at the hotel before check into The Balmoral Hotel for a final night of enjoying in Scotland's beautiful capital city. We recommend dining in The Witchery restaurant up by the castle.

Today you will be leaving Scotland, after what we hope has been a superb trip savouring some of the country's very best aspects. After a final breakfast at the beautiful Balmoral Hotel in the heart of the capital you will check-out of the hotel and meet your private tranfser outside the hotel. 

Your driver will take you to the airport on the outskirts of Edinburgh before your return flight home to France.
