We are so excited to annouce that after a long wait, we are now sending lucky Sandgrouse Travel & Expeditions clients to the Norwegian fjords, and we're dong it the best way possible!
Clients sail the fjords in a converted Swedish Navy minesweeper, these days however the crew and clients are on the look out for the incredible Norwegian scenery rather than old World War Two ordinance.

EXPLORING THE NORWEGIAN FJORDS IN STYLE
To the uninitiated it is hard to describe Norway. The landscape here is like nothing you've ever experienced before. A mythical, otherwordly place that is best seen and navigated from the water. Think, Lord of the Rings, rather than Game of Thrones!
The western fjords of Norway are simply mind-blowing. Coupling these incredible natural vistas with the best possible accommodation and transport has up until now seemed tough, but aboard HMS Gassten and Sandgrouse Travel & Expedition clients are able to live the fjord dream in the very best way possible.
You will have your own dedicated professional crew onboard at all times, plus a private chef who will spoil you with local seafood caught that very day, three times a day!
Check out our example road cycling itineary for a further feel for your week of Norwegian adventure: Cycle The Fjords: A Road Cyclist's Dream.
(Your home in the fjords - navigating her way through some of the world's most breath-taking scenery).
(Gather around for a wee dram in the Officer's Mess).
(Ships Galley for breakfast and planning the day's adventure).
(The ship makes for the ultimate ski-touring base. Ski mountains that are the very definition of the word prestine).
THE PERFECT FAMILY OR GROUP ADVENTURE IN NORWAY
Enjoy the northern lights (in winter) dancing above the ship's wooden decks, or marvel at the midnight sun (in summer) and take a dip in the refreshing waters! The ship is not only the perfect home from home from which to explore the fjords but it is also the perfect transport in this area. Guests are able to sail great distances, and cover great ground on land too, hooking up with the ship over the mountain if ski touring for instance, or around the next headland if cycling.
(Watch the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis dance above the ship in the winter months. What better way than to finish a day's dream skiing than with a cold beer and the green man in the sky!).
(Expect some of the best conditions to be found anywhere in the world - untouched power snow from mountain peak to the fjord floor).
