Lodge Overview

Brandon Lodge is a traditional log cabin hotel, with individual private cabins for guests within the grounds. The lodge complex is situated on its very own island in the heart of the beautiful and varied Lulea archipelago. This is a complex chain of over 1,300 islands set in the north of the Bothnian Sea.

During the winter months the brackish waters around this area freeze over with a layer of ice up to one metre thick.

The 15 individual cabins are simple yet very functional. Each affording spacious living areas with their own lounges, two bedrooms and outside a front facing covered porch.

Activities

Brandon Lodge offers guests the chance to fully immerse themselves in the active lifestyle to be found in this part of Northern Sweden.

In Swedish Lapland the locals get around in style from:

Dog sledding or Mushing with your own team of huskies.

Snowmobile Safaris.

Traditional Kick Sledging.

Hovercraft trips out across the pack ice.

Head out on snowshoes with an experienced guide and witness the awe-inspiring Northern Lights, or try your hand at ice-fishing and catch your very own supper.

Brandon Lodge offers guests the unique experience of having ‘Dinner on Ice’ – you will be whisked off to the frozen tundra, where upon you will find a traditional tepee tent out on the ice pack. Inside benches lined with reindeer furs and long tables laid with candles and lanterns are flickering away. Expect to be wowed over dinner in this unique environment by your chef who will be serving a selection of fine local foods all paired with a warming brew or fine wine.

Private Massages can be arranged locally or on site at request.

(Arriving back at Brandon Lodge in style, on snowmobiles).

Temperatures in this part of northern Sweden are extremely cold during the winter months, we recommend travellers pack for a true winter experience. Guests are also supplied with additional suitable winter clothing on arrival and or before their activities commence.

The Lulea archipelago had in total around 1,300 island but only 100 residents, this is a truly wilderness environment. The location of Brandon Lodge in the Bothnian Sea is such that during winter the water freezes up and a layer of ice over a metre thick forms linking all the islands.

Day time activities such as snowmobiling, winter skills classes or husky sledding often include lunch out in the wilderness, however lunch is available at the guesthouse on arrangement should you not be out on the ice.

Brandon Lodge benefits from the use of its own exclusive Hovercraft. Take a tour with your host out onto the ice pack and speed across the tundra to some of the remote islands. Enjoy listening to your guide pointing out the sights over the intercom and be sure to savour the experience of floating past icebergs.
